Made with love in Wiltshire
Thank you so much for viewing my ‘about me’ page!
My name is Stephanie and I am Widgets Mum.
Widgets Wardrobe was born in 2020,when I started sewing, during the UK COVID-19 lockdown to create affordable and durable fleeces and coats for my Greyhound Widget, to help my mental health and remain busy. Little did I know things would snowball from there! The fleeces I created caught the attention of other dog owners, people in my rural village, and groups on Facebook and Instagram. From a small handful of orders via Facebook, things extended to opening an eBay shop, and has grown exponentially requiring a dedicated website (which I am extremely excited about!) We have recently started to sell our polar fleeces in the USA, these are available via www.easycanineessentials.com . We have also been featured and interviewed on BBC Wiltshire Radio.
We’d also like to say a massive thanks to you all for your support and orders so far. Because of you all, we have been able to donate fleeces to a local greyhound kennel Greyhounds - Swindon and Beyond.
Every day is a learning journey and another step towards this new and exciting adventure becoming full time.
When I am not in my craft room creating garments for Widgets Wardrobe, I work as a Teaching Assistant in a local primary school and spend my weekends as a musician performing in a Wiltshire Function Band (Catch 22).
Widgets Wardrobe could never be as successful as it is today without our boy Widget. He stole my heart in May 2020, and we took him home in July. He is a black ex racing greyhound, born in July 2017. Widget (Southfield Storm) came over from Ireland as a pup and raced his whole life at Swindon Race Track, until the day we took him to his forever home. He is a sensitive soul with stacks of energy to burn, he lives for his walks and zoomies in a local secure field but will happily cuddle up to you in bed in exchange for a good long tickle.
